Rural properties - Inland property for sale - Country properties
Spain is the main inland country destination for expats abroad, the inland rural locations are becoming increasingly more popular due to the busy summer costas that bring the floods of tourists to the Spanish regions during the summer months.
Not only are the costas busy and noisy, but the Spanish coasts are also losing their traditional way of life - which may have been one of the main reasons for moving to Spain in the first place.
It is not just the Spanish that are moving further inland either, the expat community has also become more interested in moving further inland for the same reasons.
Quality of life, beautiful scenery, stunning properties...
These areas are becoming more and more popular, with typical Spanish villages offering the real Spanish way of life, local traditionals (fiestas and festivals), locally grown produce (fruits, vegetables, etc), beautiful surrounding countryside and of course - some real Spanish character properties unlike new developments constructed on the coast.
In general the rural regions offer cheaper housing in areas such as Granada, Jaen and inland Valencia - the further you go inland the cheaper you can find properties. Places such as Murcia and inland Alicante have seen prices rise and rise as the popularity and demand has increased, and with new government laws on rural (rustic land) land - constructors are more limited to what they can and can't build.
Rural Spanish country property
Granada / Jaen property: Granada has become a very popular region, properties in need of reforming and restoration projects can be found from as cheap as 20,000 euros, Jaen borders Granada and shares the same character properties around about the same price range. Granada and Jaen areas are great locations as the Sierra Nevada (Ski resort & mountain range) is in close range as is the Granada coast being only a couple of hours drive away.
Prices in the area are on the increase, however there is still thousands of great property bargains in the area, for investment, second homes, property restoration projects and simply for permanent living here in Spain.
Murcia & inland Alicante
Murcia and inland Alicante rural locations have benefitted greatly from coastal residents moving further inland, there are some beautiful villages in the Spanish countryside with great quality properties on offer.
Prices on property in these two regions have slowed down, although the region is still in high demand and some properties that we have on the market have dropped in price due to owners wanting quick sales.
Albacete & inland Valencia
Another up and coming inland destination for people looking for a bargain, you can find dozens of properties starting from only 50,000 euros for restoration projects, the areas Albacete and inland Valencia are in higher demand and prices are steadily increasing.
Inland Malaga
Again, another region that is becoming even more popular with expats and coastal residents seeking to escape the busy costas - this time the Costa del Sol.
Prices are generally a lot cheaper than what you will find on the coast - with a steady influx of foreigners moving in, there is surprisingly a lot more expats than you would think, more services and good communications.
